| Denali Kicks-Off
2004 Denali MemCon Series This Week in Taiwan
Yearly
Industry Event Expanded from Boston, San Jose, Tokyo to Include Taiwan
Denali Software, Inc., the leading provider of electronic design automation (EDA)
products for chip interface design and verification, will kick off the first of
four Denali MemCon events tomorrow in Hsin Chu, Taiwan. Held annually in
Boston, San Jose, Tokyo, Denali MemCon has been expanded to Taiwan this year
and provides a forum for exchanging information about semiconductor memory
and PCI Express technology. It includes discussions on product roadmaps, technology
for power and performance, market trends, design tools and intellectual property
(IP) and advanced system design issues. Tai Sheng Feng, vice president, technical
staff, at UMC (TAIEX: 2303), is tomorrow's keynote and will discuss, "Semiconductor
Foundries: Challenges & Geographic Competitiveness." Lane Mason, Denali's
memory market analyst, will moderate a panel titled, "What Consumers Want
Next!" Presentations are planned on portable consumer electronics memories including
low-power DDR and Flash. Attendees will learn design considerations for DDR2
DRAM from experts at leading memory companies, application specific integrated
circuit (ASIC) library suppliers and electronic design automation (EDA) vendors.
Special sessions will be held on design and verification for PCI Express technology.
In addition to Denali, sponsors are Altera Corporation; Artisan Components,
Inc.; Infineon Technologies AG; Micron Technology, Inc.; UMC; and Virage Logic
Corporation. "More than 500 designers in Taiwan registered for Denali
MemCon," remarks Mason. "That's a clear message that we're addressing
clear and relevant topic for the Taiwan market." Denali MemCon moves
to Boston Thursday, May 13, with the Tokyo event planned for September 8-9,
and San Jose November 9-10. Registration is free for qualified industry professionals.
