400MHz Celeron CPU and Gigabit Ethernet and USB 2.0

SALT LAKE CITY – Parvus® Corp. today announced that it will soon release two additional PC/104-Plus Single Board Computers (SBC) based on the new Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) Intel® Celeron® Tualatin processor and Intel 815E chipset: the SpacePC® 1451 and 1453. These new embedded processor boards will deliver an optimized design for fanless operation, shock/vibration resistance, and high reliability in extreme environments.

The SpacePC 1451 and 1453 boards will come equipped with high-speed networking and serial bus controllers for applications with high data transfer, high-speed networking or bandwidth intensive requirements. The SpacePC 1451 will integrate a total of 8 USB ports (6 USB 2.0 and 2 USB 1.1 ports), along with a Fast Ethernet controller. The 1453 CPU, alternatively, will offer both a Gigabit (1000Mbps) Ethernet controller and a Fast Ethernet (10/100Mbps) controller, along with 4 USB 1.1 ports.

For reliability, neither board will require active cooling. Power consumption is kept low at approximately 8.0 Watts. Both boards will be offered in standard (0ºC to +50ºC) and extended (-40°C to +80°C) temperature formats. RAM memory will be soldered directly onto the boards to guarantee compatibility, enhance thermal performance, and ensure operation under shock and vibration stress when used in mobile applications.

Other standard features include a VGA video interface, 2 serial ports, AC97 audio interface, Auxiliary Power, Keyboard and Mouse connectors and two IDE controllers that support any type of IDE Flash device (i.e. DiskonModule, CompactFlash and Flash Disk).

Both the 1451 and 1453 CPUs are compatible with standard PC x86 and real-time operation systems (RTOS), such as Windows®, QNX®, VxWorks® and Linux®. Potential applications include real-time industrial control and manufacturing automation, digital video and multimedia data acquisition, portable/mobile data storage, medical/industrial imaging, in-vehicle electronics networking, simulation, robotics, and aviation computing systems, among others.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY The SpacePC 1451 and 1453 are expected to be in stock by late Q2 2005. Prospective customers can place pre-orders now. Pricing starts at less than $800/each in volume orders of 100+ units.
